Project 111 Spring Aspens

It's been awhile since I finished anything.  It's so hot here in Kansas so I stay inside and slow to snail pace.  I hate the heat.  I finished this several weeks ago.  This was the new cross stitch project.  It was quick and easy to do.

Project 109 Mystery Sampler May

This is what the Mystery Sampler looked like when we finished April.

And now presenting the May addition!

I think this will be really pretty when finished.  But I'm already behind.

And I did it!

Project 110 Mill Hill Donkey

Maybe if I just planned on sideways pictures I would be surprised if they weren't.

My latest Mill Hill finish.  Democratic Donkey

Project 107 Touch up Living Room Wall

No pictures with this one.  It took less than 5 minutes to do this.

Project 103 Put Puzzle Together

Ok, during the buying phase I purchased 2 of these kitten puzzles at thrift stores.
So I thought if one is missing pieces I'll take it from the other one.  Great plan right?
The second one was a different cut so the pieces didn't match.

Frustrated!

Both are in the trash.

Project 95 Random Thoughts

I love this finish.  The pattern is called Random Thoughts.  I don't usually count cross stitch as finished until it's framed but at this time I don't want to go to the store to buy a frame.

This picture was taken before the charms were attached which is now done.  I will update with another picture of the finished project framed.

Project 101 Mill Hill Snowy Owl

Once again, the picture is sideways.
I have finished Snowy Owl but still need to buy charm for the second one.

Project 89 Mystery Sampler April

I understand it May but I just finished the Linen and Threads Mystery sampler for April.  When I first looked at it I truly under estimated the time.  My thought was oh only one addition this month.

One big addition.  I'm loving the stitch along so far.

Project 105 Metal Cash Box

I bought this ugly little metal box for $1.99. And yes, I remembered to take a before picture.

I spray painted the box a nice teal then decided it needed more.
So, I tried dot painting.

I loved it.  I will be doing more of that.  The box turned out great.

Project 104 Pantry Drawer

Another finished project with no picture.  The bottom pantry drawer was not pulling out so I fixed it.  Once again I bet at least a year and less than 15 to fix it.

Project 93 and 86 Wood Chest

This cute little box turned out really well.  I wish I would remember to take a before picture.  The hinges were broke and had to be replaced.  This took forever.  I almost abandoned this and went to a different project.

I used the rust-o-leum metallic paint.  I loved it.  I just used latex white on the inside.

I also am ending the May Ebay project.  Maybe in June.

Project 98 Caulk Floor Garage Door

No picture for this guy but this project is done.  Waiting to be done for over 5 years and it took about 30 minutes.  I was I would start and finish things.

Project 74 Family of Birds for 1 Week

So this is what I started with.

My goal for this week was the lower bird or the lips.

Can you see the lips and the bird?

Project 94 Kyle's Quilt

This is a big finish for me.  Years ago I made a tee shirt quilt for my son.  I gave him the quilt top for Christmas.  I usually give someone something that is not finished.

Since that day Kyle has passed away.  I sandwiched and pinned the quilt.  I just put simple lines down the quilt.  You know it probably took about 4 hours to finish.  It is priceless to me.  I remember every shirt.  I am just full of memories and tears.  This quilt is priceless.

Project 92 AC Area Cleanup

No picture with this one but we can mark this project DONE.  It took 3 big bags but finally I rule over the leaves.

Projects 79 Caulk Floor Sliding Door and 96 Fish

I finished the fish but forgot to take the before picture.  Started and finished today.

Also finished the caulking along the sliding glass door.

Good day!

Project 84 Jewelry Box

Got a little better taking the before picture.  I decided I would paint this treasure Purple.
The necklace area, which I have a problem with, has a drawer that I built.

I love this.  It makes the whole thing more usable.  I also took the ring holders out.  So you have 4 drawers that can be used for anything.

And this is the finished project.

Project 73 Mill Hill Snow Castle

This was not the Mill Hill I was planning on stitching.  As I was trying to select a kit I found this on over half way completed.  I found the beads, instructions and off I went.

Three days later - it's done.

Project 91 Fix Frames

I thought I had the sideways pictures figured out but here we go again.
I have had these 2 cuties in a box to work on.  Their glass broke and I didn't want to deal with it at the time.  Glass removed.

Project 87 Foot Stool

Yesterday I did this little foot stool.  I want to put it on the front porch holding the floral birdcage.

I painted the vinyl with acrylic paint.  It will get water on it so I liked the vinyl idea.  The body was painted with dark brown.

Looking good.

Project 85 Dandelions in Front Yard

Well we don't get a picture with this one but after 9 days, I'm done.  I will still be watching carefully but I find I can declare this one - done!  Putting down grass seed (bought local) now.

Project 90 Cover Hardware Tin

This was fast and fun.  Cut out my pieces of paper and 30 minutes later ...

 This!

Project 81 Pumpkin Carving

This is my book pumpkin.  I wish I had taken a progress picture but this is what we have.

I saw this on Pinertest and of course had to try it.  I started this over a year ago and picked up the started book to finish.  The carving sucked.  My finger was bruised from cutting.  After cutting I sponge painted the edges of the pages.  Found a stick in the yard and glued the book around it.

I don't think I will do this again.

Project 70 Random Thoughts Cross Stitch

We started with this.

And ended with this.  Happy about the progress.  And I finish the nasty over one part.

Project 78 Teal Chair

I bought this chair about 2 years ago.  It was floral with a hunter green background.
I bought it to recover or paint.  I decided paint.  The first picture shows what I painted about a year ago.  It was a much lighter teal and didn't cover well.

The paint mixture I used was 2 parts paint to one part gylcerin mixture. I have lots of paint from the china hutch book case so I used that paint this time.  I mixed 2/3 cups of paint and 1/3 gylcerin.  Although I found several recipes on the internet I found you have to do what is best with the paint you are using.

I like the way it turned out.  I like that you can still see the floral print.  The hardest part was cleaning the arms and legs.  I wish I had thought more about that when I started.

Project 80 Ebay April 2020

I have ended all auctions and items listed for sale.  During the coronavirus I would not want to buy or sell anything.

Project 82 Trim Rosebushes

This was a quick project but I walked away bleeding.  Trim these Monsters.  Done.

Monday, March 30, 2020

Project 77 Shadow Frame

This was a 70s shadow box in frame with colored popcorn and peanuts complete with straw flowers.

I started by removing the staples from the back.

I started filling it with things that represented me.

I put in cross stitch, birds, pearls and gems.  Then stapled the back on again.

 Hanging in it's new home.

Project 75 Put puzzle together

What would my posts be like if the pictures weren't sideways?

Finished this in 1 day.  Missing one piece.  In the trash now.

Project 76 Finish Puppy

Sorry for another sideways picture.  I started this cross stitch over 10 years ago.
I actually bought this from Hobby Lobby when it was new.

It needed the back stitching done, that's all.  Probably took an hour.

But it's framed and ready to be hung.

Project 69 Knife Block

I had a plan.  I also had an epic fail.

When I was taking the stand off the whole thing broke.
