Project 18 Jewelry Box 1 Makeover

I knew yesterday I was finally close to a finish and here it is!

Quit a change, right?  I painted it with a semi-gloss light pink.  Sadly I distressed it just a little.

I wrapped the drawers with fabric.  I also recovered the ring drawer.  The felt was in very good condition so I painted it pink.

I spray painted the hardware with Kona Brown.

At first I wanted to change the glass then decided to cover it with fabric but finally decided to just leave it alone.  Very happy with this finish!!

Quick Update

I'm so frustrated with my lack of finishes.  I have been working and working but I don't seem to actually finish anything.

Here are my updates:

Project 15 - Over half way done.  Here is how everything is going for me - I cross stitched for several hours yesterday and discovered today that one section was one row off!  Today I removed all of those stitches.

Project 18 - Jewelry Box.  Felt liner and fabric on drawers is done.  Repainted necklace hanger and waiting for that to dry.  Touched up door and waiting for that to dry.  Just need to wait and put everything back together then distress.

Project 20 - Maryland China Box.  Caulked and waited for it to dry yesterday.  Sanded and touched up paint today.  Waiting for it to dry.

Project 22 - Smaller of 2 boxes.  I had this bright idea for decorating and tried it last weekend.  Horrible idea!  Repainted yesterday and stenciled today.  Touched up the edges on the stencil this afternoon.  Waiting for paint to dry.  Then I need to put the handle on.

These are the 4 I have been working on.  Hopefully I will get some finishes this week.

Project 19 Dresser

I have been moving very slowly lately.  It is hot hot in Kansas.  Finally I do have a finish though.  I have been working on this dresser for about 3 weeks.

This poor dresser was in bad shape.

I really loved that the drawers had locks.  But they had been covered up.

Even the inside needed repairs.  The front even had a piece broken off.

The sanding in 100 degrees was hard.

This is my final product.  I used polyshades so the stain and poly were together in one.  First time I using this product.  The stain is more even than it looks in the picture.

I bought dresser keys and one new lock.  I added covers.

I'm so happy to have this finish!!  I'm so ready to move on.

Project 14 Mill Hill Beach Bucket

Finally I have a finish.  It's been awhile and I have been working and working but I seem to never be able to finish anything recently.  I finished the stitching/beading and put the backing on the two buckets.

(Sorry for the upside down picture)

I will have this gluing now and will cut tomorrow.  I just had to call this a finish.  Hopefully I have set myself up to have several finishes this week.
These sweet little finches were born in my hanging basket.  I just had to take a picture.  They have already flown away.

Project 13 Heart Shelf

Finally I have a finish!  It's been a while.  This is the heart shelf.

The first thing I did was remove the two hearts.  So 80's.  Next it got a coat of paint  - Trenchcoat Khaki Flat.  I used this because I'm trying to use up what I have.

I wanted to add a back to the shelf so I started with a plywood sheet but decided it was too heavy for the sheet.  So I just decided to use a form posterboard.  But it needed more.  I added a wavy background. The background came from the new grill we bought.  The cardboard was painted Gloss White. (I had this too.)

This is the finished project.  I added 6 flowers for trim for $1.99.  I paid $3.48 for the shelf.  Not bad for $5.47.
