Project 48 Organize Bathroom Cabinet

No pictures with this one but it's done.  I have a great desire to get organized.  This is a step in the right direction. 

Project 46 Put Puzzle together

I decided since this is Winter Break to go for the biggest puzzle possible.

2000 piece MB Magnum series.

 

 

It took me 5 days.  Missing 2 pieces.

Project 24 Side of Road Dresser

It is with great happiness I finish Project 24.  This has been on the list since July 2019 but sitting in my garage since the spring.

 

 

It was sitting by someone's trash.  I thought I had to have it.  It had no drawers.  I removed the top drawer board just by hammering it till it broke.  The drawer slids were also removed.  I put new boards in to support the shelves . 

 

 

I kind of lost steam at that point and simply walked around it in the garage.  So I brought it into the living room so I had to walk around it in the house.  Home Depot cut the plywood shelves for me.  I painted the body a color I already had.  Then once again I lost all interest.  Finally last week I covered the top shelf in fabric and painted the bottom 2 shelves.  Yesterday I finally put the bottom back on and gave the outside of the dresser a second coat.

 

It came out okay but I'm thrilled it is done!!

Project 38 Family of Birds

Okay.  Truth is I have been working on this cross stitch for over 5 years. I was stitching over 1 with blended threads.  So you cross once with one color then cross with the other color.  This was so difficult and not fun.  So I started over - over 2

 

This doesn't look like I've been much but I like it so much better!

Project 35 Mill Hill Stockings were hung

I love Mill Hill kits!  I finish them quickly and I think they look so special when finished.

 

 

This is the latest finish.  From 1994, it deserved to be finished.

Project 45 Change Bedroom Dresser

No pictures but I finally changed out the dresser.  I threw away a sack of trash and took a bag to Goodwill. 

Project 34 Holiday on Ice

I have a finish!  Yay!

 

 

Okay, this thing is small.  About 2" x 6".  And it took forever!

 

I think this kit was from the 80s and for some reason I really like the ice skating pictures.

It will be added to the collection.

Project 41 Mend Quilt for Birthday Present

This is a quilt I made my eldest son over 10 years ago.   He moved from Kansas to DC so I wanted him to feel at home.  He asked me to fix the quilt 2 years ago while I was grieving his brother and not doing much.  So of course I decided it was time to get this completed. 

 

 

I research quite abit for how to do this correctly and finally settled on a satin stitch.  I did white and red against blue and white and blue against the red.

 

It turned out great!  Quilts are made to be used and loved.  I also finished before his birthday!!

Project 25 Larger of 2 Boxes

Okay this has been on my list since July.  I took this plain wood box and made this.

 

 

I made a present box.

 

I bought wire ribbon at Dollartree and removed the wire.  Then the ribbon was Mod Podged on.  I topped it with a wire ribbon bow.

 

It's been awhile since I've posted.  I want to finish things quicker but I seem to be turtle slow these days.  Today I have a finish of a large jewelry box.  It was $3.99 at Goodwill.

 

 

First I removed the hardware.  I took the doors off and glass out.

 

I painted the box with a light blue.  Removed the liner and covered in fabric.  All of the hardware was painted navy blue.

 

The glass was replaced with metal sheeting.  Also painted blue.

 

I think it turned out great!

Project 37 Deidre's Birthday

I started and finished something on time!  But since the post office was closed yesterday it will STILL be late.

 

I finger/hand knitted a chucky blanket.  It's about 4ft by 6ft.  The yarn cost about $40. 

 

I love it!  I want to make one for me.

 

I'm not a knitter so I just watched you tube videos.  Very easy!!

Project 33 Put Puzzle Together

Another finish.  Mt Rushmore is put together with all pieces.

 

Project 29 Stationary Box

Project 29 Stationary Box.  This is a small $1.99 box.  It had stickers on it from stationary.  I removed those and painted. 

 

 

All I did was give this a quick paint job and stuck the decoration on it.  The inside is just blue.  I would like to cover the inside with maps but at this point I'm done.

 

Project 32 Family of Birds for 1 week

Okay, this is one of the greatest secrets - I have been working on this for over 8 years.

 

 

It's over 1 with blended colors and takes forever.  I worked on it for one week and I'm happy with what was done.



 

It's already readded to the list.

Project 28 Floor Boards

Okay I will admit my faults.  I am so excited to start something new.  But I get bored finishing.

 

 

This silly little board took me about 10 minutes to cut and put in.  It's actually the third board in it's place over the past 5 years.  For one reason or another the others had faults and were removed.  This one was purchase and sat waiting for me for 3 years.  Boy I'm glad this is done.

Project 23 Mill Hill Fire Flies

Finished is the Mill Hill Fire Flies.

 

I love this one.  I love a jar of fire flies.  I was actually able to finish this last weekend but I had to buy a second chart for the second one.  I put on the backing last night.

 

It seems I'm really slowing down on the finishes but at least I'm still going.

Project 27 Birthday Card Hedgehog

Although this has been on my list since August 11, I started this 2 days before it was needed.

 

 

This little hedgehog was a big hit.  And a quick stitch.

Project 16 Finish Sampler Shepherd's Bush

I unwisely choose 2 month long cross stitch back to back.  Here there be monsters and this one.  I finished this one quicker than I thought I would.  I wasn't sure if I liked the whole time I was stitching it but now I love it.

 

 

It will join the others on the wall.

Project 22 Small of 2 Boxes

This is a great box.  I fell in love of course so I knew it would be mine.

 

 

It had some find of poly on it but it was easy to sand.  The inside was not touched.

 

 

So I sprayed painted the box but it looked really plain.  So I went to buy a stencil.  My first time went bad.  So I spray painted the top again and tried again.  I touched up with a paint brush.

 

I added a knob.  This is my final product.  I love it.

This will be short and quick.  I only sold 5 things for the month of August.  I really didn't list much.  My heart just wasn't in it this month.

Project 20 Maryland China Box

It's been a long time but the finally I have a finish.  I bought this at Goodwill for $1.99.  Of course I thought I could save it.

 

There was an indention so I thought this screamed for tiles.

 

I decided to try alcohol painting.  It took me a while but I got the hang of it.

 

What I liked the most was you could erase it and start over.

 

A long time coming but I have a finish.

Project 15 Here There Be Monsters

This took me awhile longer than expected.  It's summer and I was up and down not concentrating at all.  This is Elizabeth's Needlework Designs Antique Celtic Sampler.  I saw this on an ebay lot and knew I would be stitching it.

 

 

It is framed and hung.  You can't see but it does not have glass over it.

 

Charlie decided to help me.  I put the frame, glass, sticky board, fabric in the chair and went to get something.  I came back and he was sitting on it.  The glass was cracked.

 

 

 

This is my collection of samplers so far.

Project 4 Living Room Window

 

Finally this project is done!!  I've been working on this one since June.  I have lived in my house for 18 years.  I have replaced all of the windows except for this one.

 

 

 

It was the biggest and I really didn't know where to begin.  But it was leaking air bad!  Begin with a call to Pella and this is what you get.

 

 

I love it.  The room is cool instead of hot and humid.  The coating (tint) resists the sun so I'm no longer baking and hopefully I won't freeze either.

 

Very happy with this finish!!

Project 21 Ebay July 2019

Forgot to update this one.  I only sold 8 items in July, 2019.  All I can say is that's more than June.  I listed a lot of items for August today.

Hopefully, I will do even better in August.

Project 18 Jewelry Box 1 Makeover

I knew yesterday I was finally close to a finish and here it is!

 

Quit a change, right?  I painted it with a semi-gloss light pink.  Sadly I distressed it just a little.

 

I wrapped the drawers with fabric.  I also recovered the ring drawer.  The felt was in very good condition so I painted it pink.

 

I spray painted the hardware with Kona Brown.

 

At first I wanted to change the glass then decided to cover it with fabric but finally decided to just leave it alone.  Very happy with this finish!!
